What a surprise to discover the words “I need” were
actually limiting my prosperity!
It seemed reasonable to need something. But what I didn’t
notice for many years was another unspoken thought beneath the words, I need.
Here’s what was going on in my mind that I wasn’t saying out
loud: I need this, but I’m not likely to get it.
Ouch!

I’m sure you get how the belief in its entirety was
completely limiting my prosperity.
Then, (as we explored last week) I’d spiral down into
hopelessness—blaming myself, society or God for what I couldn’t have.
Of course, we all have needs and wants. They can either
motivate us or, as in my case decades ago, they drug me into depression.

A perspective was missing, and once I had it, I was finally
able to create and prosper. |

Fortunately, a marvelous elder and teacher, Gretchen, came
into my life and gave me the missing piece.
She explained that every child has key needs and wants
that are fundamental to their success as adults.
When those needs are not met, the child develops a belief
that those needs can’t get met, and she carries those beliefs into her
adulthood with beliefs like:
I never get what I want.
Nothing good ever lasts.
No matter how hard I try and how much I ask, my prayers
don’t get answered.
And these are just a few of the beliefs that form. These
beliefs become the mantras playing in your mind; forming the basis of your experiences.
For me, some of the most significant debilitating mantras
were around limited prosperity as a spiritual teacher.
As I replaced these old beliefs at the subconscious level, I
was able to receive support at a whole new level, which led to an entirely new
relationship with prosperity. I went from getting by to truly thriving.
My elder taught me that the needs we had as children can
be fulfilled at any time in the subconscious realms, and I discovered she was
right.
We create a totally new past—where each need is met.

| When the need is fulfilled, the belief changes, and voila—so
does your reality! |

Your reality changes because it is easier to accept new
beliefs—you know, the ones all the experts tell you to adopt.
When you are no longer coming from a space of childlike
hopelessness, new, optimistic beliefs actually make sense to you, feel doable,
and energize you.
I recently ran across this quote from Rumi that actually
explains how this works perfectly.

As I shared with our Women of Power and Spirit Gold Circle
just a few days ago, Rumi understood a profound truth 800 years ago that is
still valid today. When you remove the obstacles to love, all that remains IS
love.
You probably have some ideas about what
love—experienced—would look like in your life.
It might look like thriving in prosperity, the freedom of
health, the joy of living your purpose, or delight in the arms of your beloved.
Obstacles to these experiences of love are removed when we
heal the wounds within us—the moments when our needs and wants were not
fulfilled.

What I discovered is that when the inner child is satisfied,
I need becomes I am fulfilled, which then becomes I attract
what I choose.
Many years ago, my elder Gretchen taught me what she had
learned from St. Germain about fulfilling those needs in the subconscious
realms.
She carefully explained they cannot be fulfilled in the
physical or by will.
They were formed in a child’s innocent mind and must be
met there to be released and recreated. She was very specific about how to
do that—incorporating elements people tell me they don’t find in other
programs.
