The thing about being a highly sensitive person is that we feel, not only our inner struggles, we sense the struggles of what’s going on around us.

I spent decades using positive thinking to try to calm my body, brain and emotions, but with all due respect to the power of positive thinking, it just wasn’t cooling down my nervous system.
I’d focus on my positive affirmations, think okay, “I’m good now,” and then one spark from someone who was rude or unkind, and my whole nervous system was—on fire! 🔥
And instead of being able to help others find their calm center, I hate to admit that too many times I just contributed to the bonfire of tension, anger, dissatisfaction, and complaints!
Thank goodness, my ancestors found me!
And brought me the Holding Meditation, because after a few awkward starts, my nervous system started calming the minute I sat down to Hold.
And after dedicated practice, now I can settle into serenity within seconds throughout my day, and even when I’m Holding space for others.
Something I really love about this meditation is that I can feel how the Holding itself is not only cooling me, it’s cooling the space around me.
