Hi Friend,
When I was much younger I was able take a bad situation and within minutes, spiral it into despair. I could literally create from bad to worse and I did it all in my mind around a fear of what was likely to happen given how bad things seemed to be.
As you can imagine, I lived in fear, anxiety and depression, because I saw too many people, including many who loved me, as my enemy.

It took many years of spiritual practice and therapy for me to realize that I was creating my reality from the inside out. |
|
|
|
|
I expected to be disappointed or betrayed and so it happened.
My fear of being used came out of a traumatic time I experienced as a child. And it set up a predisposition for non-trust and betrayal inside me that manifested in my relationships.
Now I know bad does not have to go to worse.

Things can go from bad to blessing, and that potential lives entirely inside of me. |
|
As you may know from last week's letter, after I contracted this virus in my ear, I felt half of my face becoming paralyzed. I knew I could go into the fear story if I wanted to. You know how this story goes:
- “What if this is permanent?”
- “What if there is no cure for this?”
- “What if I can’t get rid of the virus?”
Those kinds of thoughts only spiral us into despair… and worst of all, they don’t move us toward solutions.

Instead, I decided to take my state of affairs from bad to blessing!
|
|
I asked positive, pro-active questions:
- “What will it take to heal this quickly and effectively?”
- “What does my body need in order to cleanse itself of this virus?”
And one of my sweet guides brought me an answer. He gave me a concept to meditate with—purity.
As as I meditated, I realized purity was stripped from me in the trauma I experienced as a child. So I’ve been bringing the divine love of purity to my sacred inner child.

The good news is that we can recreate our childhoods and reintroduce those qualities that were stripped from us until—once again—they become part of who we are now. |
|
