If we care about the value we bring to the world, we all struggle at some time with our sense of purpose.
A rare few of us know from the time we arrive here on earth.
Most of us have to wait to find out, and the waiting can be excruciating if we don't understand how purpose works.
Many of us try to map our purpose onto jobs or careers, and for some of us this works. At some point as we settle into a career, and then discover how our work actually serves our greater purpose.
But in my experience, this is rather rare.

While it is true that all of us share the common purpose of deepening and expanding our capacity for love….

… for each of us, the way in which we will deepen our love will vary in accordance with the intent of our soul’s unique purpose.
|

It’s discovering the intent of our souls that requires a little detective work.
Here’s something for you to consider as your inner detective explores your purpose.
When we will fulfill our purpose is a unique timing for each person. I once had a dream that showed me the fulfillment of our purposes happens at different times in our lives, in alignment with Divine intent.
- Some of us fulfill our purpose shortly after we come into the world. We might even be babies or small children, here to stimulate compassion in others, for example.
- Some fulfill our purpose throughout our lives in work and service that comes most naturally to us. We make our difference across the years of our lives.
- Others of us fulfill our purpose much later in our lives, after we have already lived a full life, and finally have enough experience to meet the challenges our purpose requires.
- Some of us fulfill our purpose at a specific moment within a single event. This happens when you fulfill a significant role for a specific amount of time.

Whether you are fulfilling your purpose across your lifetime, toward the end of your life, or for a specific event…
… you can make your journey easier by understanding the fundamental nature of your purpose—the qualities you best bring to the world. |

Where do you find those clues to your purpose?
1. They can be found in what you specifically came here to learn and share while you are here on earth.
You came here to complete core lessons that play out as family patterns and traumatic events in your life. As you understand the lessons behind those experiences, and free yourself from their limitations, you complete half of your purpose.
Once completed, your core lessons play a role in what you are here to share in service to others. In other words, your greatest service is born out of the pain you release and the freedom you carry within you.
2. They live inside the spiritual gifts you brought with you.
You packed your spiritual bags with the skills, abilities and perceptions you would need most. Uncover the abilities and you are able to see what you hoped to accomplish.
Plus, as you uncover your gifts, you know what tools you have at your disposal for fulfilling your contract. You can actually make it easier for yourself by identifying and developing your top spiritual skills.
