Great news from SBC. Plans are underway for Young Authors 2014! Program information has been posted to our website and we’ve begun accepting registration information from the schools. Promoting the importance of clear communication and at the same time enhancing writing skills for thousands of metro area students, this year’s Young Authors Conference promises to be the best yet.

| | Characters that POP!
Students attending YAC 2014 will explore the theme Characters that POP! What writing techniques do you use to will your characters to life? Where do hard-to-forget characters come from? I invite you to start pondering these all important questions as you look ahead to YAC 2014.

| Geoff Herbach will keynote both events. If you haven’t read Geoff’s books, you should. He is a master at crafting complex characters enduring the trials of adolescence.

Schools will choose between two times of the year to attend - either on a winter date, March 20th, or in the spring on one of the following dates, May 27-30.

For
this initial invitation, I would like to know your interest and
availability for these dates. Once we know everyone's interest and
availability and the numbers from the schools, we will be able to
finalize our plans and create our roster(s) of writers. Most likely there
will be two different rosters - one for the March date and a different
roster for the spring dates. Roster decisions for the March date will be
made by mid-January and for the spring dates by late February.
