This blended learning experience allows participants to participate in an online experience that introduces the basic concepts of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Training using examples and scenarios most closely aligned with their work setting. Engaging video-based case scenarios present and explain the Crisis Development Model℠ and Verbal Escalation Continuum℠. Participants will learn how to dissect a crisis moment and apply the recommended intervention technique. The required online learning should take between 2 - 4 hours to complete and must be completed prior to the in-person training.
With the foundational knowledge of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® already in place, participants will discuss how to apply the models and techniques learned and practice those skills in the classroom.
Upon completing both the online and classroom training, participants will receive their Blue Card® confirmations. Successful completion of this course is dependent on participants’ attendance and participation throughout the training.
