This year has been a very different year for everyone. It has forced us all to think differently and try to maneuver through the new changes that are thrown our way everyday. Last summer, we had to take a leave of absence, due to lack of funding after COVID-19 hit. Some might enjoy the time off, but SBC went stir-crazy. We utilized our time to dream up and create our programs in a new, virtual way.

Here at SBC, we know we can count on two things, no matter what: our vision and the support our organization receives. As a small team of four individuals, we rely on amazing volunteers and generous donations to help keep us moving forward. We deeply believe in the good work that we do for our students and the opportunities we create for their futures.

We work with authors who attended Young Authors Conference as a student. We have a board member and staff member who attended multiple SBC events when they were in school.

These opportunities are created from the success of our events and we couldn't do it without you.
