Subject: McDowell Minutes: God's Abundant Blessings - June 2026

McDowell Minutes
June 2026

"I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings." (1 Cor. 9:22-23)

  • Praise God for all the courses being taught at STS. The need to complete building our classroom is now more urgent.
  • Praise God we have been able to add two new board members after we had a board consultation. We are now undergoing another consultation to assess all our staff, their gifting, and our processes to become more efficient and effective.
  • Praise God some satellite sites are being set up in the USA and Colombia for our Biblical Counseling Conference in Santo Domingo August 21-22, 2026, including internationally known speakers. Let us know if your church would like to host the conference. The messages will be in both English and Spanish.
  • Praise God the diploma program in Missions, Evangelism and Church Planting will start in October. Pray for God to send us the students he wants for us to train.

  • Praise God for a major church gift allowing us to resume construction of our classroom. Thus far the walls are up and a roof has been installed. We also built a large storage room the church and seminary will share.
  • Pray for God's leading regarding starting an expository preaching diploma in 2027.
Family Update
  • Thank God for the opportunity to visit family, friends, and churches in the States this summer. We return to the Dominican Republic on August 6.
  • Praise God that Gaby Webster has moved in to live with us, as her adoptive family has recently moved back to the States. Gaby is a Dominican college student who was adopted in the Michael & Natalie Webster family, so she is officially our great niece and we love having her live with us.
  • Praise God that Kaleah has been adapting well to our traveling. Continue to pray for a smooth summer with the transitions and her nut allergy challenges at CHOP to end her need to continue therapy for that.
  • Pray for Anne taking a course on teaching reading in July while Kaleah attends Grace & Peace Summer Camp.
  • Pray for the sale of our house in Philadelphia, as it goes on sale after our tenants move out and renovations are completed. Pray for our busy work emptying the house of all we own there.
Above: Classroom under construction. Pray for more funding needed to complete the interior.
Prayer Requests
  • Praise God Daniel graduated as the highest GPA residential certificate student. He just returned to Honduras and is involved in helping to plant a new church in an unreached village. Pray for God to direct his life as a missionary. He is considering serving in Kyrgyzstan after college.
  • Pray for God to open doors for a future new extension site for STS in Barranquilla, Colombia. Bruce just met there with church leaders who are looking for our help to train leaders. On June 22-23 he met individually with six pastors for mentoring.
  • Pray for the hermeneutics course being taught this weekend in Santiago.

  • Pray for Bruce and Ray Call in recruiting and preparing to teach courses for the new diploma in missions, evangelism and church planting.
  • Pray for Bruce who will be preaching on July 26 in Harleysville, PA.
  • Pray for the Lord to provide the seminary with a much needed administrative assistant.
