Subject: You might have missed this, I wanted to make sure you saw it

Hi Friend,

How are you!
I wanted to make sure you got this email this week, and thanks for opening it. Its not a musical newsletter, nor a general catch-up I know, but something I'm very proud of, believe in and want the community and you to know about.

Have YOU ever wondered why so many thousands of Homeless people remain stuck on the streets? Well, here's what we're doing about it..

My documentary series on Homeless people in New York has reached an exciting place. We have an opportunity in front of us to make a difference.

We are putting together a campaign outlining a solution to New York's Homeless problem, and presenting it to City Council.

Here it is - PLEASE check this out!

I know it sounds pretty bold to suggest there might be a solution to New York's homeless problem, but there is - the solution is in the model and process the city uses for taking someone from Homeless into permanent housing.

We haven't tried to invent anything here. The model already exists, and is being used in many other cities in the world, successfully. All we want to do is expose WHY our current model is not working, and WHY its keeping so many people on the streets... by letting city council and key decision makers hear it from the homeless themselves!

I'd be glad to hear what you think of this, if you'd like to reply!

We certainly thought about creating a project to simply raise funds for the homeless, but truthfully there are already many platforms to do this. What needs to be done in the city, is advocacy for change to the system. Buying food and clothing for the homeless is a need and a huge help, we don't dispute that, but it doesn't do anything to better the overall situation.

Bottom line - Its extremely hard for a homeless person to get off the streets in this city, and THAT'S the battle we're tackling.

Voices Of The Street has already been interviewing the homeless for the last year, but now in the production of the campaign to present to city council, Voices Of The Street has an even more important role. We need to put together a LOT of interviews, MORE than we can achieve on our own, and in a short period of time. Our partners Hakook, (a new York Homeless Advocacy organisation) are providing the data research, implementing the media outreach, co-ordinating the launch to city council and much more, and our role (at least initially) is to provide the footage - the most crucial part - the interviews with the Homeless.

Our crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo is setup to raise funds to put together a full documentary film team to achieve this.

- A producer, 2 DP's (Camera operators), Sound, 4 editors, a location assistant, as well as funds to pay the interview subjects, equipment and more.

I'll tell you honestly, the only way this project's going to happen is with the community's support. Voices Of The Street until now has been an entirely self-funded project by myself. Other than a Patreon page currently serving us with $80 a month, we have no private, government or corporate sponsorship.

This is a documentary film project. Running a team, crew, producing the interviews, which in themselves are individual short films, comes with huge cost.

Simply said, Voices Of The Street won’t be able to follow through with this opportunity we have, unless we get strong funding support from the community.

Please share and spread the word if you'd like, WE HAVE 21 DAYS LEFT TO RAISE THE FUNDS, and I hope you'll be a part of this exciting venture.

Thank you!..
