Hi Friend,
Greetings from London! I arrived safely yesterday morning, a fun filled day in London town, got some practice in at the studio, and had dinner at the venue I'm playing at on Tuesday. Great to be back! Today has been a very chilled day, a few naps to get over the jet lag and catch ups with my best mate and his family who live here.
Monday will be a full rehearsal with the band, and the first time we meet too! These are two of the swinging-est cats in London, so I'm really looking forward to making some music with them.
Before I get into too much news, I want to let you know of my first Indiegogo campaign which I launched last week, to help support the tour, and fund some of the major costs not covered by the venues & promotors.
We're doing super well and almost at our goal.
If you'd like to be a part of it too, or just have a browse, click the pic to check it out!

In other news: APRIL was one of the busiest months I've ever had. I had 14 shows at Birdland, with 12 of them in a 5 day period.. The run with Ann Hampton Callaway was absolutely sensational. We tributed Ella's 100th birthday to a packed house every night. Killer band and swinging.
On Thursday April 20th, I launched my new DVD there too. WHAT A NIGHT!! It literally was the most fun, crazy, swinging, on-the-edge gig I've ever done. We played music from the new DVD, entitled Live at Birdland, from Almost Blue and Underground, and also had vocalist Veronica Swift join us on voice as an instrument, along with effects pedals and all, adding non-lyrical voice to some of my music. The colors she created were crazily beautiful. There'll be a couple of clips hitting my YouTube Channel soon from the show.
Here's some pics from the night from photographer Chris Drukker: There's a pic of me holding the DVD too, if you want a sneak peak at the front cover !!
IMPORTANTLY - A lot of people have been asking how & when they can grab the DVD - When I'm back from Europe I'll launch it up on my website and let you guys know first when available, so hang tight! - and yes it's set at Region zero, so it'll play anywhere in the world.
Keep well, take care, and hope to see you soon! x Matt
