In other news, we had some fun and successful performances with the Trio at APAP New York this year. These are the annual showcases where the band performs to the industry for exposure and networking. I put together a video of the new trio performing there too. Its-a-swinging, so I hope you enjoy!
I'm working on launching a few different things at the moment, so I'll continue to bring updates of where we're at. For one there's the Homeless Project which you may have seen a couple of trailers of on my Facebook pages. This project is a passion of mine which i began a few months ago.
Entitled "Voices of the Street", the mission is to give the Homeless of New York a voice to be heard. I feel its so unfair and wrong in our day that we all have voices and can reach huge numbers of people around the world for sometimes the most meaningless of things, through email, youtube, blogs, text, commenting on news and media sites, tweeting etc - and the Homeless for the most part cannot.
So, I have interviewed 6 Homeless people already, capturing some amazing footage of these people telling their stories, but more importantly I asked them what they lack, what the city lacks for them, and what would bring about change in their lives. Its important that they are heard. The idea here is not just to document their stories, which is cool on its own, but to have the city and the world be able to hear from the Homeless themselves, what it is that THEY have to say.
I ask every person among many things, "What would be one thing you'd like to say to the world, that you'd like people to know, or that they need to hear about you or Homeless people" .. Wait till you hear some of the answers.
We'll need your support once this is launched, in ALL ways.. Its a tough project, in many respects, but very rewarding. I don't know anyone who's doing anything like this for the Homeless, and really believe not only in the need there is there, but that the project will be internationally successful too.
