But many of you may have read the email, thought about it for a moment, and then moved on without doing the exercise.

But why should you bother doing these exercises?

Because the career problem you are trying to solve may not simply be a resume, LinkedIn, interview or opportunity problem.

You may be trying to create a new career, a new income and a new future while still operating from an old identity.

These four teachers will help you see the beliefs, patterns and compromises that have quietly shaped your career so far.

Today’s teacher: The Door That Closed

Think about the promotion you did not receive.

The appraisal that disappointed you.

The role you interviewed for but never heard back from.

Most people keep asking: Why did this happen to me?

But the more powerful question is: What did this closed door reveal about me?

Perhaps you had been waiting to be noticed. Perhaps you had accepted less than you deserved. Perhaps you had stayed too long in a role you had already outgrown.

The door did not create these patterns.It simply made them visible.

Complete this sentence honestly:

Before that door closed, I had already accepted ____________________.
