Subject: Someone in every family ends the cycle of poverty and mediocrity.

In my family, that person was me. Maybe in yours… it’s you.

Hello Friend,

I grew up in a middle-class family.

I would get three pairs of clothes each year.
Two for Dussehra and Diwali. One for my birthday.

By the 10th of every month, we’d already start waiting for the next salary.

I started earning when I was 15 because I knew my father couldn’t provide more.
I was jealous of my rich friends.
Embarrassed when people saw where I lived.
Embarrassed when they looked at my shoes, my clothes, my life.

My mother did everything she could to make it better —
but the money never lasted.

So I decided to earn.

The only skill I had was teaching.
That’s how it started.

Then came my MBA — I was the topper.
I thought things would finally change.
They didn’t.

Because no one taught me how to apply to the right jobs.
How to write a resume.
How to speak.
How to position myself.

I did every petty job that came my way — selling credit cards, doing surveys, anything to keep moving.
Finally, I got into a BPO.
But every time something big came up — I had to borrow from friends or save for months.

Then I married the love of my life — a man from an even more humble family.
We had nothing except our dreams.
Dreams to become millionaires and billionaires one day.

But reality was different.
We lived separately for a year because we couldn’t afford to lose our jobs.

I still remember one night in my tiny rented 1 room in Delhi.
There was no electricity again.
I called my husband in Bhopal and said —

“The first thing I want to buy one day is an inverter… so I can sleep peacefully.”

That was my dream.
Not a car. Not a flat.
Just an inverter.

And today…
my electricity bill every month is higher than my entire salary back then — and I don’t even think about it.
I have expensive clothes I’ve never worn and probably never will and many that may never repeat.

We plan Diwali shopping without checking the price tags.

And yesterday, while planning for this Diwali, I silently thanked the Universe.

Because I know what it feels like to want something simple —
and not have it.

I didn’t want money to show off.
I just didn’t want to feel small.
I wanted to give my family the comfort I never had.

I used to fight with my father sometimes.
For not earning more.
For not saving enough.
For not doing more.

But now I know —
every family has that one soul who decides to end the cycle.
To stop the poverty.
To break the mediocrity.

In my family — that soul was me.
And maybe in yours… it’s you.

Maybe you’re the one who’ll change not just your life —
but your entire generation’s story.

I couldn’t speak English.
I couldn’t write emails.
I failed exams.
I didn’t have money to learn.
But I borrowed.
And I learned.
And I never gave up.

Because every time I learned something new —
I became smarter.
More confident.
More courageous.
And richer — inside and outside.

That’s why learning is my highest value.
That’s why I built this mission — Happy Rich India.

I stand against poverty.
I stand against mediocrity.
And I stand for you.

If I can do it, you can too.
Don’t give up on yourself.
Don’t settle.
Don’t stay stuck in fear.

Work on your mindset.
Build your skills.
Because there is nothing you cannot achieve with these two.

This Diwali, I want to know —
are you ready to stand with me against poverty & mediocrity?
