Hi Friend,
I write today with news and several exciting opportunities. First, I wanted to let you know that we have resolved the technological glitch that caused some current and past members to receive email suggesting that their membership expired Monday, April 27. Any transactions have been reversed, and we apologize for the communication. Next, while I know this is last minute, I wanted to let you know that friends of ours are hosting some FREE COVID-19 relief webinars today and tomorrow.
- On Wednesday 4/29 3pm CDT / 4pm EST, Farm Commons will host a meeting on Economic Injury Disaster Loans for farmers and ranchers. Register HERE.
- On Thursday 4/30 at 3pm CDT / 4pm EST Farm Commons will host a meeting on Paycheck Protection Program updates. Register HERE.
Also, I am particularly excited about Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund’s new members-only webinar series beginning soon. To help our farmer members retain their new customers who are scrambling to access local food, we are kicking off our members-only webinar series with farm marketing expert Charlotte Smith on “3 Steps to Keep Customers Coming Back after the Pandemic is Over,” to be held on May 7, 2020 at 10 a.m. Pacific, 12 p.m. Central, 1 p.m. Eastern. The webinar should also help those who have lost sales to re-engage with customers.
To participate in the new webinar, make sure you’re a current member by Friday, May 1. Members will receive an invitation to sign up for the webinar via email on May 4. Replay will be available for those who sign up. To learn details about the webinar and how to become a member, click HERE. One more thing: to our farmer, artisan food producers and affiliate members: we previously sent you a survey to learn more about how COVID-19 has affected your business. Thank you to those who have responded; the information helps us to advocate for the changes you need to improve our food system, especially now. If you haven’t done so already, please complete the survey by May 1. To access the survey, please click HERE.
Thank you so much for all you do to improve our food system.
In good health, Alexia Kulwiec
Executive Director
