Dear Friend,

Currently raw milk sales in Missouri are permitted through on farm and off farm sales

directly to the end consumer with limitations. For example, a producer may only sell at a

farm stand if they comply with state requirements under the Retail Raw Milk Permit, but

that still excludes grocery stores, restaurants, and the like. Senate Bill 86 (SB86) would

expand raw milk sales to retail establishments in Missouri like grocery stores and

restaurants.

SB86 is set for a hearing at 8 am Tuesday, January 31 by the Senate Agriculture,

Food Production And Outdoor Resources Committee. So please act now!

SB 86 summary as introduced:

Under this act, Grade A retail raw milk or cream produced in Missouri, as defined in the act, may be sold to grocery stores, restaurants, soda fountains, or similar establishments if the raw milk or cream is clearly labeled as such or presented as such through written notice to the consumer. An individual who is the final consumer may also purchase and have delivered raw milk or cream for his or her own personal use. The provisions of this act shall supersede any local ordinance, order, rule, or regulation governing the sale of raw milk or cream.
