Subject: You're Invited to a Member Preview of Secrets of the Universe

MEMBER PREVIEW MONDAY, JANUARY 16, 2023
Members! You're invited to a private preview of the newest show at Longway Planetarium, Secrets of the Universe January 16, 2023
In Secrets of the Universe, show-goers are taken back to within a millionth of a second after the Big Bang. Award-winning IMAX documentary filmmaker Stephen Low takes audiences on an exciting science journey to Geneva, Switzerland, home to the massive Hadron Collider (LHC), the largest and most complex machine humans have ever built at nearly 17 miles around and buried 500 feet underground. Brilliantly executed computer graphics will illustrate the enormously powerful collider as protons rush at virtually the speed of light to a collision that duplicates the conditions around the start of the Universe. Viewers will gain insight how the 10,000 scientists from 100 different countries who are working on LHC are learning new theories about the nature of atoms which could lead to new clean energy solutions or other planet-saving solutions.

Secrets of the Universe will premiere publicly on January 18, 2023. Members may preview the entire show January 16, 2023, at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., or 7 p.m. Please reserve your seats by going to SloanLongway.org/Membership, or click on the corresponding time below.
