First Fridays: Astronomy 101
Friday, May 1, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

**Please note: You do not need a Facebook account to watch a Facebook Live video. We will send another email with the link to watch the video when the presentation begins.
This Friday, join us on Facebook Live! Longway Planetarium Manager Buddy Stark will present some of the basics that you need to know to get out and enjoy finding constellations and celestial objects in the night sky. We will be looking at how to begin to make sense of the stars when it all looks like a big jumbled mess overhead. We will briefly discuss the basics of what to look for in a telescope and we will finish by looking into how our ideas of the size of the universe have changed over time with many historical discoveries, and how we estimate vast distances today.

Join us every first Friday of the month for talks on astronomy and local science topics. First Fridays at Longway Planetarium are funded in part by the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage. Your tax dollars are at work.
