Subject: PUBLIC NOTICE: Great Lakes Water Table Closed Due to Water Main Break in Flint

The water table in Discovery Hall is closed due to the City of Flint water main breaks
The Great Lakes Water Table in Discovery Hall will be closed on Tuesday, July 11, as a safety precaution while the City of Flint is under a boil-water advisory due to a water main break. All galleries at The Sloan Museum of Discovery and the REAL BODIES exhibit will be OPEN per usual on Tuesday, July 11, with the exception of the water table and drinking fountains. Please check www.SloanMuseum.org  or our Facebook page for updates if you are coming specifically for the Great Lakes water table.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we prioritize the safety of our guests.
Note: During the advisory, The City of Flint is advising residents to use bottled water or boil their filtered tap water after a water main break just after 5 p.m. Sunday.

The City said residents should use bottled water for cooking, cleaning, drinking, washing dishes, brushing teeth and making baby formula.

If residents have to use tap water, the City advises them to bring filtered water to a boil, then let it boil for a minute and cool. Lead precautions are recommended, as well.

Once the issue is resolved, residents are asked to report any discoloration to the Flint Water Department at 810-766-7202.
