The Great Lakes Titanic Connection’s goal is to be connectors in the Titanic world, and they endeavor to keep the memory of the Titanic and the passengers coming to Michigan and the Great Lakes area alive. Michigan has not had a proper Titanic Memorial like many other states have. They will discuss their research regarding the 70 Michigan-bound passengers on board the Titanic, and their organization’s mission to raise funding to have a Michigan bronze memorial cast, and placed in Marine City, Michigan. A few people they will be speaking about are the Skoog family, Bert John, Achilles Waelens, and Michael Joseph.
