Longway Planetarium Astronomers Have Found Three Meteorites

Flint, MI – January 18, 2018 – Three meteorites will be on display at Longway Planetarium tomorrow, January 19. Staff Astronomers Todd Slisher and Buddy Stark went on a hunt following Tuesday night’s meteor event that created a flash and a bang in the sky over six states and Canada.

It’s possible there are more meteorites out there. Any suspect rocks can be brought to Longway Planetarium for further evaluation.

Learn more about the meteor explosion and meteorites at this weekend’s Skies Over Michigan shows at Longway Planetarium. The live star talk is presented every day at 3 p.m. Tickets are available at Longway.org.

Longway Planetarium Executive Director Todd Slisher shows off his meteorite find.
