Sloan Museum of Discovery Media Preview and 
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony July 14, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

What: Media outlets are invited to the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Sloan Museum of Discovery in Flint, Michigan, with a museum tour to follow. After nearly five years of planning and construction, the new Sloan Museum of Discovery will re-open to the public Saturday, July 16, 2022, featuring brand new science, history and hands-on learning exhibits. The $30 million expansion and renovation of the museum was re-imagined as an inclusive center for the entire community. 

Date: Thursday, July 14, 2022

Time: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. (ribbon cutting ceremony at approximately 11:15 a.m. with tours to follow)

Where: Sloan Museum of Discovery, 1221 E. Kearsley Street, Flint, MI 48503 (parking for media is in the north parking lot off of Longway Boulevard; exit from I-475 on to Longway Boulevard and go east on Longway Boulevard; museum parking will be on the immediate right).

Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium are overseen by the Flint Institute of Science and History with a shared mission to engage communities on a learning journey in history and science.
