June's a busy month at Sloan! The much anticipated Hall of Heroes interactive exhibit is now open in the FUN Gallery (which means a chance to book a Superhero birthday party and take part in Hero Hangouts with real-live Superheros); a hobby workshop for adults; a Museum Week Membership Sale; STEM Summer Camps for kids; a Pride Prom for aduts; the Sloan Museuam Auto Fair June 28-29and a free Juneteenth celebration June 21 with live performances and kid-friendly activities... New Hall of Heroes Interactive Exhibit Opened May 24 at Sloan Museum of Discovery 

Sloan Museum of Discovery opened their newest special traveling exhibit, Hall of Heroes, on May 24, 2025, in the FUN Gallery exhibition hall. It runs through September 7, 2025. Hall of Heroes brings guests into the world of superheroes, crime-fighters, gadgets, and spies through an immersive experience. The Hall of Heroes exhibit add-on ticket is only $5 per person plus general admission (kids under age 2 and Members of Sloan and Longway get free exhibit and museum entry). For residents of Genesee County, general admission is always free, thanks to the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage that voters passed in 2018. Hang Out with a Superhero for a Super Breakfast Adventure! 

A Hero Hangout where little heroes (and their grown-ups!) can enjoy a delicious breakfast spread to supercharge you for your adventure. PLUS, a meet-and-greet with a real-life superhero, a craft to help show your heroic abilities, and admission to The Hall of Heroes exhibit! Superhero costumes are encouraged. Summer Camps and Workshops Still Open

Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium still have openings for Summer Camps, including Superhero STEM and Water for 1st-3rd graders, Shape Art for 4-5 year olds, Exploring Motion with Art 3-day summer camp for 4th-6th graders, and Race Through Space for 5th-8th graders, plus many more! Make Your Own Tapestry Workshop on June 21

Join Lead Educator Mr. Eli in the Discovery Lab maker space June 21, 10 a.m.-noon to learn how to make tapestries. Only $20/person. Supplies included. Capacity is limited so advance registration is required by June 18. Learn more and register at SloanLongway.org/Workshops.
Juneteenth Celebration at the Flint Cultural Center June 21

Sloan Museum of Discovery, Longway Planetarium and our Flint Cultural Center campus neighbors are proud to host free events on Saturday, June 21, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Food trucks, vendors, and live music on the main stage will follow the opening Freedom March at 11 a.m. led by Hamady High School's marching band. The Freedom March will start at the corner of Crapo and E. Kearsley Streets and is open to the whole community.

53rd Annual Sloan Museum Auto Fair June 28-29!

Visitor tickets on sale now for the 53rd Sloan Museum Auto Fair! Visitor and spectator gates are open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday. Learn more and buy tickets in advance (or register your vehicle if you want to show your car) at SloanAutoFair.com. Tickets to the auto fair include admission to Sloan Museum. (Please Note: The Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Millage free admission benefit does not apply during Auto Fair weekend; Sloan Museum will be closed to the general public June 28-29 unless you have purchased a ticket to the Sloan Auto Fair. Sloan Museum’s regular hours and admission discounts will resume on Tuesday, July 1, 2025).
