Summer Camps and Workshops Still Open

Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium still have a few openings for Summer Camps and Workshops from ages 4 up through 12th grade. Advanced registration is required. To see all the camps and workshops and register online go to SloanLongway.org/Summer.

BAM! In a blink of an eye, a summer of superhero fun is upon us! The Hall of Heroes special interactive exhibit runs through September 7 in the FUN Gallery. You can book a Superhero birthday party, take part in Hero Hangouts with real-live Superheroes, and go Behind the Panels for an 18+ night at the museum on August 2. Sloan now holds hobby workshops for adults, or take the whole family to the new FREE Community STEM Nights starting in August. 

A few Summer Camps for kids are still open, including "Let's Get Kindergarten Ready," "Camp Michigan" July 29-31 for 4th-6th graders, and "Cardboard Construction" July 29 for 1st-3rd graders. These are just a few of the happenings this Summer! check out all the activities below, plus the show schedule for Longway Planetarium (see the full show schedule and buy tickets in advance at SloanLongway.org/Now-Showing.
Hall of Heroes Interactive Exhibit at Sloan Museum of Discovery through September 7

The Hall of Heroes special interactive exhibit brings you into the world of superheroes, crime-fighters, gadgets, and spies through an immersive experience of comic book superhero characters. The Hall of Heroes exhibit add-on ticket is only $5 per person plus general admission (kids under age 2 and Members of Sloan and Longway get free exhibit and museum entry). For residents of Genesee County, general admission is always free, thanks to the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage that voters passed in 2018. Adult After Hours 18+ Event, Behind the Panels
August 2, 2025, 6-10 p.m.

Unleash your inner superhero (or villain!) and join us for an epic night of geeky fun and grown-up flair at our Beyond the Panels-After Hours event! This adults only (age 18+) event will have something for every fandom. Browse a selection of comic books and other memorabilia to help enhance your collection. Grab a superhero themed cocktail from the cash bar to enjoy while you check out the vendor tables, or play some tabletop games. Admission to the Hall of Heroes exhibit included. Community STEM Night - NEW!
Thursday - August 14, 5-8 p.m.

Hands-on activities over several science stations to test your superhero abilities! Learn how simple machines made from pulleys and levers can make us stronger. Build a hover craft, play with things that fly, and more! All ages and families are encouraged to attend this fun and free evening of interactive science! Presented by the Education team. THIS EVENT IS FREE TO ATTEND. NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

Hang Out with a Superhero for a Super Breakfast Adventure! 

A Hero Hangout where little heroes (and their grown-ups!) can enjoy a delicious breakfast spread to supercharge you for your adventure. PLUS, a meet-and-greet with a real-life superhero, a craft to help show your heroic abilities, and admission to The Hall of Heroes exhibit! Superhero costumes are encouraged.
