Wizard's Tea
Sunday, Oct. 9, 10-11 a.m.
Location: Longway Planetarium
Join us for a magical morning full of treats and surprises! Wear your house colors and enjoy a morning of fun! Tickets are limited and pre-registration is required. Dress-up is encouraged!


Trivia Night returns! - Saturday, Oct. 8, 6 p.m. 
(doors open at 5:30 p.m.)
Team up with your friends in groups of up to six people and compete against the other challengers in six common categories, including science, history, geography, literature, pop culture, and more. Battle it out for bragging rights and small prizes for the top three teams. Recommended for ages 13 and older.

Ooky Spooky Light Show - Oct. 4-30
4 p.m. Tuesday-Sunday 
7 p.m. Thurs/Fri/Sat 
8 p.m. Thurs/Fri/Sat. starting October 20, 2022
Location: Longway Planetarium
Favorite Halloween songs like "The Monster Mash," "Ghostbusters," and "Thriller" come to life with amazing graphics and lights. Great for family audiences, this show was created in Flint by our talented team of artists and programmers. Great for adults and kids ages 6 and older.
Haunted Hallway - Oct. 27-30, 4-7 p.m.
Location: Longway Planetarium
Enhance your Ooky Spooky Light Show experience with a trip through our Haunted Hallway. This family friendly haunt will offer spooky fun in our black light hallway that is fun for all ages. The haunted house is $2 per person and takes about 10 minutes to walk through.

Halloween Hootenanny - 
Saturday, Oct. 15, 5-8 p.m.
Location: Longway Planetarium
Grab your little monster and boogie the night away at our annual Halloween Hootenanny. Show off your best monster mash! Costumes are welcome but not required. Includes a special 6 p.m. showing of the Ooky Spooky Light Show. Tickets are limited so reserve your's today!

This is a special event and tickets must be purchased in advance.
Tickets: $12 adults, $6 youth ages 2-11
Eerie Experiments- 
Fri., Oct. 21, Oct. 28, 5:30-8 p.m.
for families with children ages 8+
Location: Longway Planetarium
Have a ghoulishly good time with these fast-paced and fun Halloween-themed activities and experiments. Set off a chemical reaction that makes a ghost fly, build a catapult to launch Halloween candy, make a bubbling, color-changing potion, and more! Grab a slice of pizza before heading into the Planetarium for the Ooky Spooky Light Show.
Spooky Science - 
Sat., Oct. 22 or 29, 10 a.m.-Noon
for families with children ages 8 years and under
Location: Longway Planetarium
It’s “spooky season!” We’ll have a howling good time exploring chemistry, physics, and engineering with a Halloween twist. Use forces and motion to make a spider crawl up its web, build an edible haunted house, and squish your fingers into an ooey, gooey creation.

The Fall/Winter 2022 Hands On Camps and Science Workshops are now available. You'll enjoy family programs like Spooky Science, Eerie Experiments, Haunted History, and Lego Club! All hands-on workshops and camps are at the new Sloan Museum of Discovery or Longway Planetarium. Our workshops now also include book clubs, After Hours 21+ maker activities, and new STEM based Winter Camps.

This exciting new live lecture series focuses on how the stars, planets and galaxies shaped mythologies, religions, and even architecture within various cultures. October's featured presentation is Legends of the Celtic Way: A Halloween Special. 


October Sensory-friendly Show 
OOKY SPOOKY LIGHT SHOW
Sat., October 8, 11 a.m.
During sensory-friendly shows (every second Saturday of the month at 11 a.m), we turn the lights up and turn the sound down to provide a welcoming environment for our friends who need a more sensory-safe show. Be yourself and find the best spot in the house to enjoy the show!

Dark Side: The Light Show
Pink Floyd's iconic Dark Side of the Moon album as never before in this one-of-a-kind show, featuring stunning 4k visuals, brilliant LED sequences, and incredibly clear 5.1 surround sound.
