Michigan's largest planetarium offers exciting hands-on activities for Girl Scouts, as well as immersive planetarium shows. Longway Planetarium badge workshops and overnights are fast-paced, active, and fun with lots of opportunity for scouts to work together and meet new friends.

Brownies Inventor Overnight

$26 per scout and $10 per adult
You are the next generation of inventors and innovators! What will you create? Explore different ways to solve problems by designing, creating, and building unique inventions! Includes a planetarium show.

Brownies Wonders of Water Workshop #1

9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (Arrival 8:30-9:00 a.m.)
$10 per person
Start your Journey by investigating where your water comes from. Explore the water cycle, participate in a clean water challenge, and more!

Wonders of Water Workshops can be completed one at a time or together. You do not need to do Workshop #1 in order to sign up for Workshop #2. If you are attending both Wonders of Water Workshops, be sure to pack a lunch!

Discover how much of Earth’s water is drinkable and how we get it to our sinks. Girls will build and use a groundwater system to pump water from their “well,” and find out why pollution is so harmful.

Brownies Bugs Workshop

1:00-4:00 p.m. (Arrival 12:30-1:00 p.m.)
$10 per person
Alongside our six-legged planetarium pets, girls will create a bug box, look at different types of bug homes, use magnifying glasses to look at our bugs, and use their imaginations to build bugs of their own to take home!

Juniors Gardener Workshop

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (Arrival 8:30-9:00 a.m.)
$10 per person
Help design and plant the planetarium garden! Learn which plants will grow best in your area by testing soil samples. Find out how variations in soil, sunlight, and water can affect your garden. Please bring a rain jacket.

ALL SCOUT FAMILY FUN NIGHT
Science at the Planetarium
Open to both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of all levels
Friday, March 15, 2019, 6:00-9:00 p.m.
$10 per person
Scouts and their families will explore physics, chemistry, and natural science through exciting hands-on activities and demonstrations. Plus, enjoy an exciting show in the planetarium theater!
