April Happenings include hobby workshops, book clubs and final weeks of 2theXtreme!
Indoor Fun for Spring Break Week!

Both Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium will be open for Spring Break week March 31-April 6, 2025. Sloan Museum of Discovery will be open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday this week, and Noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Longway Planetarium has shows starting at noon (see the full schedule at Longway.org). Add-on the special traveling exhibit, 2theXtreme-Math Alive!, for just $5/person.
7th-12th Grade Workshops
There are still a few spots left in the Jewelers workshop for 7th-12th graders on April 4! Learn basic jewelry-making techniques as you design and build your own jewelry to take home.

Saturday, April 12, 10 -11:30 a.m., Discovery Lab maker space
FREE drop-in workshop with general admission (includes access to the four primary gallery spaces and maker space; special traveling exhibit, "2theXtreme-Math Alive!" is $5 extra).

Adult Hobby Workshop - "Learn to Crochet" with Mr. Eli 

Saturday, April 19, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Discovery Lab maker space
$20 registration fee (includes all supplies and a few crochet tools to take home). Ages 16+ please. Space is limited; sign up by April 17 or earlier.

NEW! Magic Tree House Free Kids' Book Club!
This new book club for kids ages 7-11 starts Saturday, April 19, 9 a.m., and recurs every 3rd Saturday of the month by the Hagerman Street Gallery tree house. Each month, Ms. Jacquie will be featuring a selected book from The Magic Tree House series, written by Mary Pope Osbourne, and a hands-on activity that corresponds with the book. 2theXtreme-Math Alive! runs through May 11, 2025

This engaging hands-on exhibit will inspire, spark imagination and celebrate the wonder of math and science! Only $5 plus general admission! Ask guest services to add 2theXtreme when you come in for a museum visit!

Discounted Combo Tickets: For out-of-county residents, this is a great option to make it a day of discovery in history and science at both the Longway Planetarium and Sloan Museum of Discovery right across the street!
