On the first Wednesday evening of every month, Sloan Museum of Discovery will host special adult-only hours for our 21 & up guests to explore, enjoy and immerse themselves in hands-on science and history! 

Beer and Wine will be available for purchase, as well as food and drink from the Coffee Beanery Cafe. 

These monthly events are for Adults 21+. General admission prices apply. 
(Genesee County residents always receive free general admission, thanks to the Arts, Education & Cultural Enrichment millage pass by Genesee County voters).

New Live Astronomy Lecture Series Merges 
Culture, Archaeology and Astronomy! 
The Remarkable Astronomy of the Ancestral Puebloans of New Mexico

Friday, September 9, 6 p.m.
Longway Planetarium

Bring the past to life in the lecture of the Cultural Astronomy series! View the historical ruins of the Ancestral Puebloans in stunning detail using modern technology including 3D terrain imaging and LIDAR scanning. This lecture will bring Chaco Canyon and the cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde straight into the Planetarium where you will learn about the astronomical significance and alignments of these ancient structures.

During sensory-friendly shows (every second Saturday of the month at 11 a.m), we turn the lights up and turn the sound down to provide a welcoming environment for our friends who need a more sensory-safe show. Be yourself and find the best spot in the house to enjoy the show!

Stargazers can come back to this show again and again for recent astronomical events and current updates on what's visible in the night sky over Michigan.
