Nobel Prize in Literature for Olga Tokarczuk

The Nobel Prize in Literature for 2018 was awarded to the Polish author Olga Tokarczuk "for a narrative imagination that with encyclopedic passion represents the crossing of boundaries as a form of life."

Tokarczuk's striking, imaginative and meticulously researched prose received numerous accolades in Poland and abroad. The writer won a Man Booker International Prize for her novel Flights in 2018. Agnieszka Holland's Spoor, a film based on Tokarczuk's book Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead, won a Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2017.

Precious gold-plated replicas

Tokarczuk received her Nobel Prize Medal in Stockholm on December 15th. Each Nobel Prize Laureate is permitted to request up to three official replicas of the medal, which are all crafted by the same masters working for the Nobel Foundation. The replicas can be donated to universities, museums and other organizations by the Laureates.

The medal donated by Olga Tokarczuk will be auctioned off in aid of the medical objective of the Grand Finale fundraiser 2020 - to help finance the purchase of medical equipment for children's surgery and treatment.

Charitable auctions are a popular method of supporting the objective of the charity - everyone can list of bid for unique, unforgettable and precious lots.
