Subject: For Traditional Martial Arts Instructors Only...

Friend,

Over the last several years, there seems to have been a trend toward mainstreaming traditional martial arts practice and instruction.

And while I don't see anything wrong with adding mainstream programs to your dojo (fitness classes and pure self-defense training), I do see an issue with trying to make traditional martial arts more mainstream.

P.S. - There's a difference between adding services to reach a broader audience, and watering down what you teach to make it more palatable to the masses. Consider carefully how you alter your art to make it more appealing... because you might just be removing the very thing that makes it appeal to people who want real martial arts training.
