Subject: Excerpt: "How To Make Your Dojo More Profitable..."

Friend,

Conventional wisdom says that I'm supposed to send you another promotional email today, because we're right in the middle of a big four-day sale.

However, I get tired of writing those emails, and I know you get tired of reading them. So, instead I decided to send you an excerpt from one of the books in the promotional package, "The Profit-Boosting Principles", which I published in 2012.

Enjoy!

How to Increase Your Martial Arts School Profits Dramatically Without Increasing Your Overhead

In Jay Abraham's excellent book, Getting Everything You Can Out of All You've Got, Mr. Abraham states that there are only three ways you can increase your business:

1. By increasing your number of clients -
2. By increasing the average size of the sale per client -
3. By increasing the number of times clients return and buy again.

In truth, this is no great revelation. Every savvy business owner knows that these three areas of focus are where the real profits are in a small business. In fact, I learned this very thing when I was studying business at university.

But the thing is, knowing something is true in business as opposed to knowing how to apply that knowledge in practical terms can make all the difference between failure and success.

Out of necessity, I learned the practical application of these principles long before I ever attended a single college business course. In fact, it was only later when I learned these principles in college and read Mr. Abraham’s book that I realized how I had applied those very principles to achieve financial success in my own studios.

So, let's take a look at these three “Profit-Boosting Principles” in order to see how exactly we can apply them to the business of teaching martial arts.

Profit-Boosting Principle #1: Increasing Your Number of Clients

Obviously, increasing your client base is the sole and immediate purpose of all the marketing you do. However, there are some very simple means of doing this that school owners often overlook. These methods will cost you little in time or expense to implement, but can have a significant impact on your enrollment.

Yes, there are simple low-cost ways of getting new clients. However, the sad fact is that most business owners only focus on that one aspect of increasing their number of customers, that being marketing to get new clients.

As you’ll see later in this book, that very poor application of this profit-boosting principle can actually end up hurting your school in the long run by limiting your growth. I know that sounds contradictory, but hold that thought until later when I explain the dynamics of growing the enrollment numbers in your martial arts school.

Profit-Boosting Principle #2: Increasing the Average Size of the Sale

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could make twice as much profit every single time you enrolled a new student? Of course it would, but I already know what you’re thinking. “I can’t gouge my customers like that, blah, blah, blah.”

Well, here’s a thought… what if you actually provided more value to the new student at the time of their enrollment, thereby providing them with something that they will want to pay more for up front? Pay attention here, because this principle of providing value actually resides at the center of everything I’m about to reveal to you in this book.

It’s only by providing more value that you will be able to ethically increase your profits in your business. Remember that; write it down backwards and paste it to your forward if you have to, because it’s that important.

Profit-Boosting Principle #3: Increasing the Frequency of the Sale

Increasing the number of times clients buy may seem difficult when you run a business that is based on monthly payments.

However, there are plenty of ways to get your students to buy more often. I used to think that the only way to generate profit in a martial arts school was by selling more memberships, but I was mistaken. Actually, there are dozens of ways to generate income in your studio; that’s right, I said dozens.

The thing is, you have to be of a mindset that allows you to spot ways of providing increased value to your students. Again, it’s only by adding value that you can ethically increase your profits.

Once you adopt the attitude of adding value at every opportunity, you’ll be well on your way to finding ways to increase the number of times your clients pull out their credit cards and checkbooks in your school.

The Desired Outcome

In this book I’m going to show you how to apply these principles to your martial arts school business operations in order to dramatically increase your profits.

And just how “dramatic” will that profit increase be? How’s an 80% or greater increase in net profits sound? I think you’ll agree, that’s a tune any martial arts school owner can dance to… and that’s exactly what I’m going to show you in this manual.

But, just one thing before we get started… I need you to keep an open mind. That’s because some of the ideas I present in this book have been considered controversial by many in the martial arts industry.

However, I’m going to show you how these methods have been abused by other instructors and schools over time. Then, I’m going to show you how to use them ethically and in a manner that’s completely inline with your moral standards.

Are you ready to learn how to dramatically boost your martial arts business profits? Then let’s get started…

Until next time,

Mike Massie
