Some final thoughts about our workshop but first a little paperwork.
Please right away fill out my online Emergency Contact Form at https://www.lorenphotos.com/page/contact-form/. Also on the page are Terms & Conditions that my insurance company insists I have folks agree to.
We're in the midst of a serious drought and it is affect the foliage. Things are turning around here two weeks early but farther north it isn't changing as early, which is strange. It has rained once in the last three months and it looks like the second rain could be Tuesday or Wednesday, so be prepared for rain. From the forecast right now, it looks like we might see some rain coming from somewhere (I could be a TV weatherman!). I shoot in all weather and the colors can really intensify in the rain, so I’ll be out there no matter what and I hope you’ll join me. My best foliage photo was shot in a steady downpour.
It is important to keep your camera and your feet dry. If your feet are wet, you won’t enjoy being outside. So have waterproof boots and I highly recommend Gore-Tex rain pants. I do several things to keep my photo gear dry, and I’ll show you those tricks, but it involves a combination of plastic bags, towels and an umbrella. If you are flying in, I’ll have a large umbrella you can use, so don’t try to pack one. I’ll also have plenty of micro fiber towels and CGBs (Clear Garbage Bags, official photographer gear).
We’ll meet the first day at Focus gallery at 23 Elm St. in Woodstock at 3:00 p.m. and chat a little and then go out and shoot so bring your gear, including tripod. I'll have plenty of room in my van so don't leave gear in your hotel room, bring it. We’ll be done around 6:00 p.m.
I won't have the final itinerary until Sunday night or Monday afternoon. I wait to see what the weather is doing and after some final scouting to see where the leaves are looking the best. I know it makes it a little hard to plan for you but I want to put you in the best foliage possible at the right time.
I’m really excited, the leaves are turning and I can’t wait to get out there with you and make great images.
See you Monday.
