Subject: Loren's Art of Seeing workshop finale

Hello,

Thanks for being part of the workshop, your participation, photos and conversation made it so much better.

The last session video is at https://youtu.be/ZHtMaJvUyQg

The video from the third session is at https://youtu.be/9RMvcsGZzmQ

The video from the second session is at https://youtu.be/U5d356HcPtE.

As you are out making pictures, stop and think about what your shooting, it will help you see better. And the more you practice seeing and being intentional the better your photos will become.

Think about the creative practices I talked about:

  • Shoot often and without pressure

  • Try new angles, times, or subjects

  • Slow down and look longer

  • Create photo challenges for yourself

  • Keep a visual journal

If you want to work on your personal style think about what subjects grab your attention, do you like wide or tight compositions and about how light influences your photos.

And if you want to push yourself a little more create 3–5 images that reflect your way of seeing and then really break down what works and what doesn't. Upload them to ChatGPT and ask for a strong critique, it works!

But really good photography is about paying attention. And having fun. So when you have a camera in your hand, first of all have fun with it and pay attention to what is around you. You'll be surprised at what you see when you really look.

Thanks again,

Loren
