Subject: Loren's Art of Seeing session 3 video

Hello,

That was a fun session, thanks for all the participation.

The new video from last night is at https://youtu.be/9RMvcsGZzmQ

The video from the second session is at https://youtu.be/U5d356HcPtE.

The first session is at https://youtu.be/jkw1ukXe_c0

Be sure to send me photos from the assignments:

  • Make a photo with three layers

  • Break down any photo and examine what works and what doesn’t

Send me both photos. Like we talked about, really take some time to look at any photo of your choice from a perspective of really breaking it down into what works, what elements go together, how things intertwine, how the composition works, how the colors work. Then tear it apart and see what doesn't work. Spend at least 15 minutes studying and thinking about the photo, which is hard. Write down your thoughts as you go. You don't need to send me your critique, we'll discuss it in the next session. You'll probably find this exercise to be difficult, especially if you haven't done it before. Hopefully you'll be amazed how it helps see photos in the field and during editing.

Please resize the photos to 2000 pixels on the long side. If you don't know how to do that it is OK, send the full file size. You can send them to me via WeTransfer.com or directly through email. Either way use Loren@LorenPhotos.com. I need them by noon Monday, June 30.

I'll see you the next time, June 30, 7:00 p.m. EDT. Here's the Zoom info again:
