Giving thanks to Mother Earth
My epic Peru workshop was earlier this month and it was spectacular.

We were lucky to have a very special person as our local guide. Fernando is a descendent of both the Incas and Spanish, but you can tell his heart is really in his Inca heritage. He speaks Quechua, the language of the Incas, and knows their history and spirituality. He spoke often of giving thanks to Pachamama, which roughly translates to Mother Earth in Quechua. The Incas had many Gods but Pachamama seemed to be the big one. As we were near the end of our Machu Picchu tour, Fernando pulled our group over into an isolated room where he had us circle and hold hands while he thanked Pachamama for all our blessings. Even though he was talking in Quechua and I didn't understand a word, I did feel what he was saying. The bounty that is life comes from Pachamama and I just don't take enough time to acknowledge it. We have our Thanksgiving feast and I always take time then to count my blessings then but I know I'll always think more about Pachamama in the future. Two spots left for Namibia trip
I'm really looking forward to going to Namibia September 6-17. It is a special place with amazing and unique landscapes, incredibly dark skies at night and Africa's amazing wildlife. It has become a popular place, especially for photographers and we'll make some great photos while we are there. I have only two spaces left for the trip, so let me know right away if you are interested. You can get more info about the trip at

Summer time in Iceland
Each year I look forward to getting away from the summer heat by going to Iceland in August. Since it so far north it doesn't get hot, the high temperature is usually in the 60's. Iceland in summer is very green, even though most of the landscape is covered with lava rock and there aren't many trees, green moss is everywhere creating wonderful landscape. Iceland looks so different in summer and winter and that is what keeps me going back. I still have some openings for next year's adventure, you can get more info about the trip at https://lorenphotos.com/mevents/iceland-summer-photography-workshop-aug-2023/
