Hey Friend...
A few days ago, one of my Florida clients was caught up in the panic and chaos of hurricane preparedness shopping.
Aside from the frustration of stores running out of generators and supplies, she'd rushed off and forgotten to protect her own energy from negative people and situations.
As you can imagine, she picked up everyone else's emotions during this stressful time (as we all do when unprotected).
Along with the fear and uncertainty about being in the path of the storm, she'd picked up pain, anger, sadness, and a feeling of "not good enough" from an alcoholic acquaintance.
She just couldn't shake off the woman's negative vibes on her own. And now, she was beginning to feel her own panic and fear.
Potential damage to her new home and uncertainty about her family's' safety began to snowball with everyone else's frantic energy and feel like an emotional prison while she still had so much left to do!
Knowing an energy work session to clear all that up would just take a few minutes on the phone with me, her plan was to purchase her items and sit in her car where she could close her eyes for our call.
However, the checkout line was ridiculously long and filled with frustrated people who, at 9pm, were tired, hangry, and still had to get to other stores to find supplies Lowe's had run out of.
So, being the innovative, suicidal-to-thriving woman she's been since we met, she left the long checkout line and found a cement bench in the garden shop of the store. (I know, it didn't sound very comfortable to me either.)
It was time to clear out the negativity and get back on track.
She wanted to feel that solid foundation of safety and confidence again with protection between her and the fear, anger and panic of other people.
(Don't you feel sometimes that you have enough icky emotions of your own without everyone else's piling on top of them to drag you down?)
I guided her through the energy work and when she opened her eyes, she said, "Why is my hair wet?!" with a surprised tone in her voice.
Turns out, she hadn't seen the bird bath behind the bench and her ponytail had taken an unexpected swim while she was "zoned out." We laughed so hard!
She felt great... clear, happy, protected and confident to jump in that super long checkout line of overwhelmed people.
Now protected from everyone else's understandably frantic energy, she knows her positive emotions will serve her well in the days to come before and during the storm.
We've been visualizing the storm turning away and it has changed course. We are happy to add to the energy that brings positive change.
