The Risk In Putting Yourself Out There
Turn on your images! This one has a beach in it! :)
Who you are ROCKS no matter what "they" think!

Hi Friend,
Have you ever really wanted to do or say something but didn't because you were afraid of what other people might think or say about you?

It can feel scary and be risky to put yourself out there (in love, business or life) when the vast majority of us were raised with fitting in as a goal. It sets us up for failure when it comes to creating a safe, happy life.

The importance of authenticity:
When we put on a happy face when we're really hurting or say we're "fine" when we're not, we are living a life that is not true to who we are. I'm not suggesting you explode in a frenzy of emotion when someone asks you how you are if you're not actually "fine."

What I am suggesting is that YOU recognize when you're doing these cover-ups so you can sort things out and live more authentically. Simply pay attention to your feelings when you say or do something that goes against who you are in order to please someone else.

  • Do you need to feel needed or validated at that time?
  • Are you focused on not making waves (pacifying someone)?
  • Are you afraid you'll be alone if you speak up?
  • AND does this happen around the some people or everyone?
The risk in putting ourselves out there whether to find love or business or anything else is that if we are not authentic (our true selves), we have an underlying fear someone may find out we're not who we pretend to be.

Example: You'd have to be living under a rock to miss the cruel comments about Bruce Jenner (our Olympic hero) becoming a woman. But have you considered the thought, emotion and bravery that went into his decision?

Many people commit suicide instead of facing ridicule or live a painful lie forever.

The point is not whether anyone agrees or disagrees with what Bruce is doing or what you are doing. The point is this...
Who you are ROCKS no matter what "they" think!
