Ooh! Turn on your images! You're missing Everything.
Hi Friend,

We continue our Self-Love month of June with a popular way to develop self-love that I completely disagree with.

And you need to know about it to keep yourself from feeling frustrated or like a failure when it makes you feel even LESS lovable than before!

Getting massages, taking bubble baths, meditating, and me-time are ways of appreciating yourself and I believe that is vital.

However...

Self-care is not self-love.

If you feel guilty for spending money on yourself or taking time from your to-do list, it can make you feel worse about yourself, and not lovable at all.

If you feel selfish for doing things for YOU, it plays right into what I shared with you last week as a belief that is generations old about self-love being selfish and egotistical.

Remember this? When I looked up synonyms for self-love on Microsoft Word 2016?
Ahh! Turn on your images!!! You're missing things.
How DO you develop self-love then?

I believe it has everything to do with understanding. There are so many things we rush past to get to a result, and by doing so, ultimately miss the way to achieve the result.

When you get your needs met on your own (previous Life Strategy), see the disconnect in beliefs about self-love (last week's Life Strategy), know that self-care isn't self-love (this Life Strategy), you chip away at things most women beat themselves up for or get disappointed over.

Combine those with next week's Life Strategy and emotional junkballs and you're free and clear to feel a lot better about yourself and a LOT more lovable!

My article on self-love will be published next week to the YourTango Home Page and I'll share it with you then.

Until that time, enjoy your week/weekend.

You ROCK!
Kelly
