Your Need For Connection
Ooh! Turn on your images! You're missing everything!
Hi Friend,

You have a need for connection that you must get met. We all do.

The danger is that you might connect to people who are detrimental to your confidence and self-esteem just to feel connected to SOMEONE.

It's not your fault. We've all done it more than once. The key is to recognize it and get this need met in a healthier, safer way.

Here are some detrimental ways to get your need for connection met:

1. If you are a parent, you may allow your grown kids to live at home because you fear of being alone if they move out.

2. You might allow relatives or coworkers to mistreat you because you're afraid of losing them if you stand up for yourself.

3. Maybe you have stayed in a relationship long after it became unhealthy because it was better than being alone.

4. You might have a toxic friend you keep just to have someone to do things with because you want a social life.

Although you need connection, getting this need met with dis-empowering people gives your power away and dampens your dreams. You deserve better.

It also creates negative emotions like shame, anger, guilt, resentment, and depression that drain your energy and keep you stuck, feeling unworthy.

You DESERVE to shine BRIGHT.

Here are some healthy, safe ways to get your need for connection met:

  1. Cultivate positive friendships - new or old
  2. Play with or walk a pet - animals are unconditional love
  3. Go to a coffee shop to work if you work from home so you see real people
  4. Join a meetup (Meetup.com) group of people with similar interests
  5. Have a regular schedule for calling positive girl friends to chat
  6. Make it a habit to get out and do things with a friend or group
  7. BE SURE YOU HAVE A HEALTHY SPIRITUAL CONNECTION!!!
The picture is of just a few of my fun, Positive Women friends I've accumulated over a few years. Two are new as of May 1 when this picture was taken.

Take your time choosing the right friends and then your need for connection is met and you feel empowered, strong, and confident.

You ROCK!
