Hi  Friend,

Here is one of my favorite confidence-building Life Strategies!

I used to teach it in my self-defense company too because it has everything to do with staying safe.

It explains why you might feel people take advantage of you, or keep pushing after you say, "No."

I hear women talk about feeling walked on and taken advantage of all the time. I ask them one question, and it's obvious what happened.

If you tell someone "No," and then do what you said you weren't going to do, subconsciously, they will never take "No" as a valid answer from you again.

They will always know you are either not serious or that they can talk you into doing what you said you wouldn't do.

THIS IS UNCONSCIOUS for the most part. People may not consciously push you or disregard your "No."

SOLUTION: Say "No" less often and ONLY when you can stick to it.

(You might need to say, "Let me think about it and get back to you," to give yourself time to decide. Avoid being pressured into a fast, uncertain decision.)

No means No.
It is a one word sentence. It requires no explanation.

If you say, "No, because (and state your reason)," you give the other person bargaining and arguing leverage.

Just say the word... and stop talking. That's it. Let the other person squirm all they want. (It's kinda fun to watch. LOL)

I think you will feel much more powerful. It increases self-respect.

If someone whines and cries about how terrible you are for saying "No" when they realize they can't talk you out of it, that tells you what kind of person THEY are, not what kind of person YOU are. And it may also show that you have been going back on your word for far too long.

Remember, Say "No" less often and ONLY when you can stick to it.

Welcome to your power and freedom, Positive Woman! You deserve BOTH.

It is now YOUR responsibility to accept other people's "No" as a solid, final answer. No pushing or pulling after they say it. Respect their boundaries as you expect them to respect yours. ;)

Enjoy your week, Friend. You ROCK!
