Subject: Northumberland Libraries Newsletter 14 May 2020

Welcome to our Northumberland Libraries Newsletter. We want to keep you informed about all of the exciting ways you can still access your library service.

Don’t forget to check mylibrary.co.uk for all of the latest updates.

Pick up a new hobby

Lockdown is the ideal time to pick up a new hobby. Did you know library members can borrow over 20 magazines for free from our RBdigital service.

Digital Photographer, Simply Knitting, BBC Good Food and Who Do You Think You Are are just a selection of what is available.

Children’s eBooks on BorrowBox

Has your child read all the books they brought home from school? If the answer is yes, why not take a look at our digital library where there are over 400 eBooks available for children and young adults.

Lots of the books featured on BBC Daily Bitesize Lessons are available in our digital library as well. And if your child prefers listening to reading we have lots of audiobooks available.
Local History Month

We invited Northumberland residents to send us their recollections of Victory in Europe Day, names of loved ones and photographs.

A big thank you to all the contributors.

Over 50 new audio titles now available

Looking for something to listen to? We have added over 50 new titles to our RBdigital audio library.

Titles include Normal People by Sally Rooney, Impostor by LJ Ross, Out of Bounds by Val McDermid and The Mirror and the Light by Hilary Mantel.

These titles are all multi-access which means they are guaranteed to be available.

Ideas for kids

Library staff have created lots of craft ideas to keep children busy at home, with new ideas added weekly. This week Kathryn shows us how we can make a nature collage with items from our gardens.

Check out our Facebook page for regular online storytimes. Don’t forget our weekly Lego challenge as well!

Northumberland Communities Together

Northumberland Communities Together is here to help if you are struggling to manage at home and need support for basic things like food, and are unable to get help from friends or relatives.

They are a support to residents, groups and volunteers with practical advice and help for things like food supplies, access to resources for other essentials, as well as safeguarding information for our most vulnerable and at risk residents.

Call: 01670 620 015 between 9am to 6pm, seven days a week.

And finally...

As an extra measure to help you we have introduced the following:
