Subject: Stop Being the "Mean Girl" or "Mean Boy" to Yourself

The way you talk to yourself can either hold you back or help you grow. Let's change the conversation.

Stop Being the "Mean Girl" or "Mean Boy" to Yourself

Hi Friend,

Let's be honest...

How many times a day do you catch yourself saying things like:

"I messed that up."

"Why am I so bad at this?"

"I should have done better."

I say we because I do it too.

For the past 12 years, I've tried to handle my book launches on my own. More times than I'd like to admit, I beat myself up because I couldn't figure everything out. I kept telling myself I should have known this or should have done that.

Enough!

It's time to stop "shoulding" on ourselves.

Today, we're talking about the second G in my 3 G Method—recognizing what you're Good at.

I know it may feel a little silly at first to look in the mirror and say,

"I handled that situation really well."

Or...

"I'm proud of myself for staying committed today."

But here's what most people don't realize...

Your brain believes what you repeatedly tell it.

When you practice positive self-affirmation, you're doing much more than giving yourself a pep talk. You're helping your brain release dopamine and norepinephrine—powerful chemicals that increase focus, boost motivation, and strengthen your confidence.

In other words, you're literally training your brain to work with you instead of against you.

And that's exactly what prepares you for the third G—Goals.

✨ This Week's Challenge

Take a few minutes today and write down three things you're good at.

They don't have to be huge accomplishments.

Maybe you're a great listener.

Maybe you're dependable.

Maybe you make people laugh.

Maybe you encourage others when they need it most.

Whatever they are, write them down—and believe them.

Then, every morning this week, read them out loud.

It may feel awkward at first, but over time you'll begin replacing negative self-talk with confidence, encouragement, and hope.

🎉 You're Invited!

I'd love for you to join me during my Book Launch Celebration, where we'll dive deeper into the complete 3 G Method and hear inspiring stories from people whose lives have already been transformed by these simple daily habits.

Big hugs,

Linda Larson Schlitz

P.S. Every big transformation begins with one small decision. Today, choose to speak to yourself with the same kindness and encouragement you give to the people you love.
