Hi Friend,
Let's be honest...
How many times a day do you catch yourself saying things like, "I messed that up," "Why am I so bad at this?" or "I should have done better?"
I say we because I do it too.
For the past 12 years, I've tried to handle my book launches on my own. More times than I'd like to admit, I beat myself up because I couldn't figure everything out. I kept telling myself I should have known this or should have done that.
Enough.
It's time to stop "shoulding" on ourselves.
Today we're talking about the second G in my 3 G Method, and it's all about recognizing what you're Good at.
I know it may feel a little awkward at first to look in the mirror and say, "I handled that situation really well," or, "I'm proud of myself for staying committed today."
But here's what most people don't realize...
Your brain believes what you repeatedly tell it.
When you practice positive self-affirmation, you're doing much more than giving yourself a pep talk. You're helping your brain release dopamine and norepinephrine—powerful chemicals that increase focus, boost motivation, and strengthen your confidence.
In other words, you're literally training your brain to work with you instead of against you. And that's exactly what prepares you for the third G—your Goals.
This week, I'd like you to do something simple.
Take a few minutes to write down three things you're good at.
They don't have to be extraordinary. Maybe you're a great listener. Maybe you're dependable. Maybe you make people laugh. Maybe you encourage others when they need it most.
Whatever they are, write them down and believe them.
Then read them out loud every morning this week. It may feel awkward at first, but over time you'll begin replacing negative self-talk with confidence, encouragement, and hope.
