November is National Veterans and Military Families Month, and I decided it was a perfect time to focus on the many women who’ve worn a military uniform and are now fighting silent battles—loneliness, trauma, alcohol and drug abuse, guilt, and shame. Too often, they’re doing it alone and unsure of what to do next or who to trust.
My colleague Christine Baumann spent 22 years in the Navy, and she understands trauma and the other challenges of military life and how hard it can be to transition back to civilian life. She will be co-facilitating the support group with me for her fellow female veterans on Sunday Nights at 7 PM- CST starting December 7th.
Our new support group will be a safe, confidential community where female veterans can find understanding, hope, and a path to mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual healing. How You Can Help Today: Think of any female veteran in your life—family, friends, church members, coworkers. Forward this email to her with a personal note letting her know you care. Share our group information in your church, small group, or on social media.
If you know a woman who served and is struggling, please help us reach her. Your simple invitation could be the bridge between her private pain and a new season of healing, sobriety, and purpose.
With Love and gratitude, Linda, Counselor, Speaker, Author, and Life Coach
