MP3 PODCAST In this week's audio podcast, one encounter meant a life-shifting change. Their sorrow became joy, their mourning becamethe Good News for all peoples.

FIRST READING In Acts 2, Peter proclaimed the Good News before the people of Jerusalem with an outpouring of the Spirit.

PSALM Psalm 16 begged God to preserve not only life, but faith, so the faithful could rejoice.

SECOND READING In the second reading, the author of 1 Peter reminded his audience that prayer was not just a component of life, life was meant to be prayer.

GOSPEL In Luke's gospel, two discouraged men on the way to Emmaus encounter the risen Lord and return to share the Good News that, indeed, Jesus rose from the dead.

CHILDREN'S READING In the story for the first reading, Josh went out to play with his friend at the skate park. He felt free fromresponsibilities, but he still played by the rules and shared the park, just as Peter urged his audience to change in order to sharenew life. In the story for the gospel, Cassandra rode away on her bike, mad at her mother, only to find herself in a strange part oftown. Slowly, she recognized the way home and returned to her mother in joy. The two men walking away from Jerusalem would return in joy, knowing that Jesus lived.

CATECHISM LINK In this week's Catechism Link, we investigate God's revelation.
