Unkilled extended

Our exhibition featuring testimonies from people who have experienced detention is extented until the 6th of March.

Following the success of our current main exhibition, Unkilled will run for another weeks. It is based on material from a film project by Hanna Heilborn and David Aronowitsch. In five audiovisual works, they shed light on the global structure around the detention of people on the run. Three detainees describe their experiences from within detention, in Sweden and England. We also hear a PR representative from the multinational company Serco, one of several private actors that run detention centers for refugees and migrants in the world.

New exhibition at Kalmar Art Museum

Vård och Värde is a collective project by and with care- and cultural workers in collaboration with the art institutions Art Gallery C, MINT and Kalmar Art Museum with the support of Kulturbryggan.

With Weary Bodies And Hearts With Room For One More is based on the collaborative magazine Vård och Värde. The publication is made by cultural and care workers and focuses on the working conditions and experiences of both those who give and those who receive care. The exhibition opens at Kalmar Art Museum on 19 February 2022 and coincides with the magazine's second issue, which focuses on issues around informal care that exist despite the insensitive structures that govern today's elderly care. Here, space is given to diverse views on aging, care and the end of life from both a cross-generational perspective and lived experience of power or subordination that can be experienced when class, gender and ethnicity affect the meeting between people.

Phase two of Vård och Värde projekt will open at Konsthall C in May.

Centrifug: Meeting of Minds

Curator: Abir Boukhari

10–20 februari 2022

Participating artists: Valeria Montti Colque och Helene Karlsson

In 2019, Sweden celebrated a hundred years of women's suffrage. This date inspired Abir Boukhari to curate a series of meetings with other female artists titled Meeting of Minds. On show at Konsthall C Centrifug, this video project focuses on feminist visual practices concerning migration and exile. Together, these artists tackle what it means to have a transcultural background and become part of more than one society.
