New exhibition: Efforts of Nature

16 September–12 November 2023

Artist: Morgan Quaintance

Opening: 16 September at 5 PM

Place: Konsthall C

You are warmly welcome to the opening of our new exhibition Efforts of Nature, starting on Saturday at 5 PM, in the presence of the artist. Morgan Quaintance will hold an introduction at 5.30 PM followed by a screening of featured works.

In his first solo-show in Stockholm, London-based artist Morgan Quaintance debuts two new film works unseen in Sweden alongside an installation of still images and printed fabrics.

Centering on work that uses the devices of repetition, circularity, and inversion to illicit affective and emotional audience responses, the exhibition Efforts of Nature considers one of the defining existential dualities of contemporary life: the psychological push and pull in awareness and concern between individual mental states and planetary shifts in environmental conditions.

Time’s passage, employment rights, the dissolution of the body and the disintegration of polar ice caps are explored through provoked states of expectation, hypnotic sequencing and recursive loops.

MYCKET artistic leaders of this year's Art in the Preschool

The art, architecture and design group MYCKET leads this year's edition of Art in the Preschool.

The project, which is a recurring collaboration between Farsta district administration and Konsthall C, invites all of the district's municipal preschools to - under the guidance of artists - create art for Konsthall C's large exhibition hall. Since 2011, an estimated over 5,000 5-year-olds have participated in one of Sweden's largest exhibition projects by and for children. The purpose of the project is to give both children and educators new ways to work with art in preschool.

In this year's version MYCKET presents "Troll Vision" as a way to question what is and is not valuable in our environment. What is trash and what is treasure? Together with Konsthall C's art educators Malin Dahlberg and Birgitta Adolfsson, all 5-year-olds in Farsta's municipal preschool will get to build amulets from things that are not otherwise appreciated, things that hide in forest edges and ditches.

The result is shown in a group exhibition with around 500 artists, with a vernissage at Konsthall C on Saturday 25 November.
