Maple Burl Handle Blocks
Presentation Grade  •  Resin Stabilized  •  One of a Kind

When a handle has to earn its place on a finished blade, the material has to deliver. These new Dyed & Stabilized Maple Burl Handle Blocks are presentation grade, individually chosen for standout grain, and locked in with resin stabilization that goes deep under pressure. Every block is its own piece — no two are the same. That is what burl does, and that is exactly why craftsmen come back for it..

PREMIUM MAPLE BURL BLOCKS

Presentation Grade. Individually hand-selected for grain quality and visual impact.

Dyed Under Pressure. Color penetrates deep into the wood for consistent, lasting results — not surface treatment.

Resin Stabilized. Harder, more dimensionally stable, and better at holding fine detail through shaping and finishing.

Yields Two or More Scale Sets. Each block is sized to give you multiple thick scale sets from a single piece.

Works for Gun Grips Too. Custom gun grip makers have found this material equally at home on a firearm as on a blade.

Every Block is Unique. Natural burl grain means your handle will look like no one else's. Period.

BUILT FOR THE WORK. BUILT TO LAST.

Maple burl is not a beginner's material — it is a finisher's material. That wild, swirling grain that makes burl so unmistakable is also what makes it demanding to work. Stabilization changes that. These blocks have been pressure-impregnated with resin so the wood is uniform, dense, and ready to take a clean finish without the movement or soft spots raw burl can throw at you.

The dye goes in at the same time, driven deep by the same pressure process. You are not looking at surface color that will sand away. The color is in the wood, working with the grain figure — not fighting it. Aqua, Sapphire, and Emerald were chosen to make that figure pop, and they do exactly that.

At 5.0 x 1.5 x 1.25 inches nominal, each block gives you room to work. Get two or more thick scale sets from a single block and the value per piece holds up well against other premium handle materials. Knife makers reach for these. Custom gun grip makers do too — the same qualities that make this wood exceptional on a blade make it exceptional wrapped around a grip frame.

We carry multiple selections in each colorway. Browse the available blocks and pick the grain pattern you want — no two are alike, and they will not stay in stock long.
