Subject: Summer Camp Schedule and Key Reminders:Starts Monday, June 2

Hi Coaches,

We’re excited to kick off our first Kid Chess Summer Camp on Monday, June 2nd at Chess Zone.

As a quick reminder, camp hours are not guaranteed and are limited, especially weeks we have only one camp location. Also note camp sign-ups are currently on the lower side.

Our staffing is based on:

  • Your submitted availability

  • The number of students from your schools attending

  • Overall camp enrollment and coverage needs

We’re doing our best to match coverage with enrollment. Being flexible and ready to step in when needed is a big help—and much appreciated!

Your Role at Camp

 🗒️Camp Schedule of Activities

  • Review here

  • The Schedule of Activities is meant to be a flexible guide, not a strict timeline. Use it to help pace your day and identify key lessons—many activities will run simultaneously.

🎓 Teaching

  • Bring your video flash drive and be ready to teach

  • Use the Socratic Method (ask, engage, guide)

  • Lead and participate in obstacle courses and activities

  • Keep students engaged in fun and meaningful chess lessons

🎯 Student Engagement & Behavior

  • Engaged students = fewer behavior issues

  • Reinforce good behavior positively

  • Learn names, build connections, and SMILE

  • Avoid coach-to-coach chatting during camp time—stay focused on the kids

  • Make sure every student feels seen, valued, and encouraged

REMEMBER: CAMP SUCCESS IS A TEAM EFFORT!
