 TRITT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WINS KID CHESS K-5 TEAM TOURNAMENT; MORNINGSIDE TAKES THE K-2 SECTION

Kid Chess congratulates the 60+ Metro Atlanta schools that participated in the Kid Chess Team Championship! We're proud of all of the young chess players who represented their schools so well. We offer extra congratulations to Tritt Elementary for winning the K-5 section and to Morningside for winning the K-2 section.

 COACH BELLA BELEGRADEK AWARDED ‘OUTSTANDING CAREER ACHIEVEMENT’ BY THE GEORGIA CHESS HALL OF FAME

 

Kid Chess Coach Bella Belegradek has been a  transformative figure in Georgia scholastic chess, primarily through her long and highly successful tenure as a coach, most notably at East Side Elementary School in Cobb County.  She has taught at Kid Chess for 20 years now. Her record of success is exceptional, having coached Kid Chess East Side Elementary teams to approximately 15 Georgia Scholastic Team Championship titles across various grade categories. Her motivation for coaching is deeply rooted: "I love to teach the kids how to think, and chess is a very good field to teach people how to think, how to plan, and how to make decisions."

Georgia Chess Hall of Fame

Did you know Coach Bella isn’t the only Kid Chess staffer who has been honored by the Hall of Fame? Read about Kid Chess founder Justin Morrison, Vice President Dan Lucas, and Coach GM Alonso Zapata. 

KID CHESS SUMMER CAMPS START IN EARLY JUNE

We have six different Kid Chess summer camps starting June 1st and running through July 17th. You can register your child to attend a camp’s morning session, afternoon session, or both sessions at a bundled price. Campers will have a lunch break in the morning and a snack break in the afternoon, as well as a recess break for both sessions. We welcome graduated 8th grade students to join us for Summer semester camps. Our camps are like a full Kid Chess club semester condensed into one week of fun chess activities!

  • Saturday, May 2nd – Kid Chess Blacklight Bughouse

    • AM Kindergarten – 2nd Grade Tournament 9:00am – 1:00pm

    • PM 3rd – 5th Grade Tournament 1:15pm – 4:30pm

  • Sunday, May 17th – Kid Chess Tournament

    • Located at Mountain View Community Center | 3400 Sandy Plains Rd | Marietta, GA 30066

    • AM Kindergarten – 2nd Grade & 3rd – 5th Grade Tournaments 9:00am – 1:00pm
