Comet LONEOS-Check this out now!

Perhaps the most fascinating, and dubious, Mars observations were once collected Lowell Observatory But nowadays the observatory outside Flagstaff, AZ is better known for the Lowell Observatory Near Earth Object Search. LONEOS has discovered about twelve comets since its start in the mid-1990s, not quite as many as the LINEAR robotic system near Socorro, NM. The current object of interest is C/2007 F1. Back in January we were dazzled by  Comet McNaught which skirted the western horizon after sunset for a short while before disappearing southwards. Well, its happening again. Comet LONEOS is expected to brighten to Mag 4 at around Halloween, and then disappear into the sunset.
